Ingredients /nutrition
- 4 dried chilies, soaked in hot water for 20 minutes and drained
- 3 red chilies
- 120 g shallots
- 3 candlenuts
- 3 slices galangal
- 3 garlic cloves
- 3 slices fresh turmeric
- 1 stalk lemon grass
- 2 tsp shrimp paste (belacan)
- 2 tsp meat curry powder
- 2 red chilies
- 3 lightly beaten eggs
- 400 g minced beef
- 150 ml thick coconut milk
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp sugar
- 12 banana leaves
Methods / instructions
- Combine the first 9 ingredients from the ingredient list in a food processor or blender and process until form a smooth paste.
- Combine paste with remaining ingredients and divide evenly for 12 portions.
- Wrap mixture with banana leaves and secure with toothpicks.
- Steam for about 18-22 minutes.
- Serve hot
